Hello, my name is Ivy and I am humbly requesting help through this GoFundMe for my and my husband's cat, Asmodeus (a.k.a. Ozzy).

Ozzy is a 2 year old medium fur tuxedo, and we adopted/rescued him when he was only 8 weeks old and less than 2 lbs. We nursed his weight and he grew big and strong quite quickly! When Ozzy was 11 months old, he got very sick with a Fever of Unknown Origin. This required multiple days-long hospital stays, extensive work-ups, and months of medicine, but no cause was ever determined.

This past weekend (Saturday, 05/24) Ozzy started getting sick again with similar symptoms that he had as a kitten and we immediately took him to the ER, where he was found to have a high fever (almost 106 degrees) and mild anemia. His fever was better by Sunday evening and he was sent home with us. Unfortunately, he returned the next morning as his fever climbed over 106 degrees by the next morning (Monday).

Further testing on Monday revealed that Ozzy tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (which was not present when he was sick at 11 months old). His anemia got significantly worse overnight and he may need a blood transfusion if it continues to drop.

The veterinarian said that Ozzy has a very good fighting chance (he's still eating and spunky!) if we can break this fever and continue to hospitalize him and watch the anemia. He is still in the hospital, and is likely to need to stay hospitalized for several more days, possibly longer, to ensure he gets through this flare.

We have already exhausted our savings, withdrawn emergency funds from retirement funds, and maxed out CareCredit and other available credit lines.

The vet costs have already accumulated over $2,240 and could potentially cost double that to continue hospitalization and treatment.

We are humbly asking for your help in saving our little guy, we love him deeply and so does his kitty family (our other cats) and we can't imagine not being able to take him home. We fell in love with him and he has truly changed our lives for the better, and he is so young, we need more time with him.
