UMKC Virtual Showcase Aid! MFA Actors '24

Greetings!

Our names are Ashley Bowen, Craig Lindsey, Solomon Langley, Nico Holguin, Kushi Beauchamp, Adrienne Hernaez, and Will Porter, and we are the UMKC MFA Acting Cohort of 2024! This fall we are preparing for our culminating Third Year Showcase, and unfortunately, certain budgetary constraints have put stringent limits on what we can afford to produce.

That's where you come in, our heroes with generous hearts!

With your donations, we will be able to fund an ambitious and engaging Virtual Showcase, that features this diverse cohort's many talents, and meets the industry standard of professionalism. But a quality product doesn’t come cheap:

Each member of our cohort will be featured in two contrasting scenes, directed and filmed by a professional production team. This team will also serve as our post production team, editing our scenes into 14 mini-films, complete with multi-angle camera cuts, sound mixing, color correction, and remastering for the internet.

Total Cost: $12,000.00

In order to make sure our production team can stay comfortably in Kansas City during our 10 day film shoot, we are providing housing and travel for these creative geniuses. They will need:

Rental Car and Milage Reimbursement: $810.00

Round-Trip Air Fare: $700.00

Housing during production: $2500.00

Craft Services for production: $500.00

Meals with Director and Photographer: 1000.00

To create a cohesive package for our Virtual Showcase, branding is essential. More specifically, streamlined professional photographs of us as a company, and as individual artists will create a unified look to the presentation. We have estimated the following costs for a photographer:

Headshot & Group Photo Sessions + Retouches For All 7 Actors: $2000.00

Miscellaneous Unanticipated Expenses: $500

If you've been adding this all up, this is far more than $15,000.00. It’s more like $20,000.00

We are counting on your donations to to exceed our goal on this fundraiser, so we can build this amazing showcase -- crowning the three years we’ve spent training and growing here in Kansas City. We realize it’s a lot to ask, and we are endlessly grateful for all of the generosity we’ve already recieved from this incredibly welcoming theatre community.
