A few months ago, I was surprised to find out my fiancé and I are expecting identical twin girls! We have been filled with all the feelings in the past few weeks but just this past Wednesday we got some unfortunate news about our babies at 17 weeks pregnant. Sadly, they are suffering from twin to twin transfusion syndrome, which is an uneven distribution of blood supply to each baby. This is life threatening to them and if left untreated will be fatal. The only treatment option is fetal laser surgery, which is very costly but has a very high success rate. We are asking for help to pay for this unexpected surgery that is our babies only chance at survival. We are not ones to usually ask for financial help. Insurance does not cover the cost of the procedure and we simply cannot do this alone. Please, anything will help.
