Update:

Olivia and I wanted to say thanks to everyone who has reached out. Truly, it means everything to us. Unfortunately, we couldn’t wait for donations to come in before acting. Sebastian was in critical condition, so we took out a loan to cover the immediate cost of his blood transfusion and hospital stay.

The bill for his second round of treatment, including the transfusion, overnight care, and follow-up monitoring, came to $2,490. Every single dollar raised here will go towards paying off the loan and whatever new costs may arise for his care. I'll try to update this with actual costs as he receives care for complete transparency.

Our initial savings were completely used up on the first round of treatment (emergency consultation, overnight stay, and immediate stabilization), so this loan covered the upfront payment they were requesting to proceed care this morning (8/15/2025).

Sebastian remains in vet care tonight but is looking better and now has the energy to stand up. We wanted to ensure everyone was updated. We are beyond grateful for all of you.

Hi, my name is Dolf, and this is my best friend Sebastian. He’s a 6-year-old rescue who came into my life during one of my darkest times. I was struggling deeply with depression, and Sebastian became my emotional support dog. His love and goofy, rowdy energy gave me a reason to keep going. Besides my wife, he’s the most important part of my world.

Last night, everything changed in an instant. After dinner, Sebastian suddenly began violently vomiting and having diarrhea to the point where he almost choked. We rushed him to the emergency vet, where we learned he had gone into anaphylactic shock. The cause is still unknown.

We emptied our savings to cover the first round of treatment, but this morning we were told he now needs lifesaving transfusions to survive. The costs are overwhelming, and we can’t bear the thought of losing him simply because we can’t afford the care he needs.

Sebastian isn’t “just a dog” — he’s family. He’s the reason I wake up in the morning. If you’re able to donate, no matter how small the amount, it will go directly toward giving him a fighting chance. And if you can’t donate, please share his story so we can reach as many kind hearts as possible.
