Succotash has been a unique, fun-loving, and quirky brunch spot in Kansas City for almost 20 years now (19, to be exact!). We have always strived to be mindful of our local community and everyone's unique lifestyles, offering a variety of inclusive meal options.
For the last month we have been “Paying it Forward”, making food for our local medical workers during this difficult time. Unfortunately, we recently ran out of donations and decided to reopen for to-go orders in effort to not only survive but to continue delivering meals to the people on the front lines.
A week before we had planned to open, our walk-in cooler's compressor broke, making reopening impossible. Unfortunately we are at a spot where we simply do not have the funds to fix it. Not only does this mean we cannot serve the public or medical workers, it also means our amazing employees will be out of a job.
Currently Succotash is being run by 4 dedicated individuals out of the goodness of their hearts. They are currently taking steps to reopen to the public for to-go orders. This is not possible without the walk-in cooler functioning.
As a small local business in Kansas City focused on our community we are asking for help. We need $2,500 to fix our walk-in to be able to continue serving the community and keep our lovely staff employed. It's always tough to ask for help but we can't do this without you. Please consider donating to save one of the most iconic restaurants in Kansas City.
Any money we raise beyond the S2,500 is going straight into our "Pay It Forward" donations! That means we can continue making and delivering food to medical workers in our community!
Thank you so much for your time. Kansas City we love you more than you know and hope to see your beautiful faces very soon (even if it's under a mask!). Much love! XOXO
