Greetings!!!
St. Andrews Anglican school has impacted the lives of many students on the island of Exuma since the founding in 1983 as a parochial Preschool. It’s continued growth is marked by the establishment of the primary department in 1990 to the middle school in 2002 with the assistance of the Anglican central education authority the school has therefore been in existence for the past 37 years.
The operation at Saint Andrew’s Anglican school has been facing challenges and financial hardships for several years. This has been compounded by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, which has crippled the economic life in both the Bahamas and Exuma specifically and his lead to global and nationwide layoffs and job losses.
For the past several years the Anglican education system has faced significant financial challenges. Notwithstanding the admirable efforts of the Diocesan Administration, a few donors and the substantial sacrifice a faculty and staff members; the schools financial stability has continue to erode. Unfortunately the financial repercussions of the ongoing pandemic has acted as a financial breaking point and as a result of the Dioceasan fighting itself unable to keep St. Andrew’s Anglican school open.
St. Andrew’s Anglican school has served the community of Exuma and the keys as well. We have produced the best national examination results on the island of Exuma for several years. We have established a strong music program from which are pop band strives and performs within the community. Our students are involved and shine throughout the island of Exuma and various activities namely, sailing, Governor General Youth award, sports ,debates, spelling bees, speech competitions, eco- school and much more. Our students are awarded scholarships at top universities based on their outstanding academic performance.
The school means so much to our community we are there for appealing to all of our families and friends to assist us in saving our school by donating to the save our school save our future campaign.
This school has been a magical place for many years and the thought of it being gone is toomuch to bare. Any donation no matter how big or small would mean the world to everyone who is feeling heartbroken over this great loss. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
