Mom who sacrificed her best years of life for us. She worked herself to exhaustion so we could attend school. But this year, her heart couldn't hold the weight any longer. On October 6, Mom suffered a stroke. Overnight, our roles just reversed.

My mother suffered a devastating cardiogenic shock leading to multiple organ failure. For the first harrowing 15 days, she was on a ventilator in the ICU, fighting for her life—I was miles away in another country, powerless as the woman who stood like a fierce wall against every adversity was reduced to an almost inanimate state, her breaths controlled by machines. After over a month on ventilation and enduring triple bypass surgery, she remains critically ill. Every week brings hospital bills of $3,000—a financial tsunami we never imagined facing. The mounting costs are overwhelming: surgery, intensive care, medications & rehabilitation. We've exhausted our savings. We've called in every favor. We're running out of time.

But Mom is still here. Still fighting. Still teaching us about strength.
