My name is Michelle, and I am the operator of a much-loved community pub in Peterborough.

I am raising funds to save our pub from closure.

The lease is not being extended, and I have been given just 21 days to secure a future with Savills. Without urgent support, this pub — a place that means everything to so many people — could be lost.

This pub is far more than a business. It is a safe, welcoming space where people come not just for a drink, but for connection, comfort, and community. For many of our regulars, especially older and vulnerable members of the community, this pub is the one place they feel seen, heard, and less alone. It’s where friendships are formed, support is found, and people look out for one another.

I’ve stood behind this bar through good times and hard times. I know the names, stories, and lives of the people who walk through our doors. I care deeply about this place and the role it plays in our community.

The funds raised will be used to secure a one-year lease, cover legal and professional fees, and meet the immediate operational costs required to keep the pub open and protected while its long-term future is secured. Our goal is £80,000, which will demonstrate to Savills that this pub has real backing and a viable future.

If given the chance to remain the operator, my vision is to develop the pub into a true community hub — hosting events for young and old, live music, charity nights, and community meetings, while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment where everyone belongs.
