Since the early 1950s, the Port Allegany Community pool has given our residents countless hours of fun and recreation.  The primary income source has always been the people in our community who utilize and support the pool's continued use.  However, every so often, the pool needs repairs that require more funds than what is normally raised.  The community has always raised that money during those times of need.

The pool again is in a time of need.  It needs new fencing, new concrete, a new filtering system, and monies to open for the 2014 swim season.  Without these items, "our" pool, our community's pool, will cease to exist.

The Port Allegany Recreational Authority has researched grants available to assist with maintenance and upkeep of the pool, however, most grants require matching funds and may take several months and/or up to a few years to receive.  At this time, the Port Allegany Recreational Authority, as well as members of the Port Allegany community, would like your help in raising the funds to save "our" pool.  Without the community pool, we would lose our community swim league, daily swimming lessons for beginning swimmers,  scheduled times for adult swims, and the countless hours that our pool provides for summer fun.
