Save our Piazza Roma Ristorante
We all know Johnny, the charismatic owner of Piazza Roma Ristorante. Who hasn’t enjoyed a free glass of Prosecco or a generous discount. Not to mention always being made to feel like the restaurant was your second home!
Now is the time to give back. Johnny won’t tell you but it’s getting tough for him. Closed for 5 months in 2020 and so far 2 months this year. Johnny won’t be allowed to open until at least after Easter, by which time it might be too late. In 2020 Johnny got no rent relief and no government assistance. This year his landlady agreed to a 50% reduction in the monthly rent of the restaurant but he still has to fork out $1,500 a month, with no money coming in!
We want to help Johnny and his family, and we hope you do too. If we can lighten his load a little by chipping in some euro towards his restaurant rent, then maybe when things get back to ‘normal’ and you come to Como again, Piazza Roma Ristorante will still be open and we can have a drink with the man himself. We truly hope so!
Someone once said, ‘Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life.’ Johnny knows how to fish, he’s just not allowed to. Let’s help him pay the rent so he can fish when he’s finally allowed to!
Much love,
Tim and Christine
