We are banding together to save our local Curves.
We love our club, and we don’t want to lose it. We have been a health and fitness family for 17 years, serving our community by encouraging, training, and empowering our members to reach their health and fitness goals. According to research, moderate activity – such as the Curves Workout – helps improve overall physical and mental health. It's very important to us to continue providing this service to our community.
We believed strongly in doing our part to flatten the curve of COVID-19, and followed the mandate to temporarily close our club on March, 16th, 2020. We were finally allowed to reopen in July. We resumed business on July, 6th, and enjoyed a full week of working with our members, with all health and safety protocols in place. Much to our dismay, fitness centers and other businesses in our county were once again mandated to close on Monday, July 13th. Having been initially closed for over 3 months with no incoming revenue, then shut back down again after only one week of reopening, has put our club in danger of closing permanently.
COVID-19 has negatively impacted all of our lives and livelihoods. Franchise fees, rent, and utilities have not been forgiven or postponed. We were able to secure a Paycheck Protection Loan for the first shut down order, but those funds have been depleted. Our staff is now volunteering, as we have exhausted our payroll funding. Also, since we are a facility designed for women, albeit open to both men and women, the Small Business Administration has deemed us ineligible for a disaster loan.
Your donation will help to bridge the huge gap caused by L.A. County's Shelter- in- Place ordinances. It will help us remain afloat to support the physical, mental, and emotional health needs of our community, as we have been doing for the last 17 years.
All proceeds from this campaign will go to near term rent, reopening operating expenses (e.g., staff, utilities), and Covid-19 supplies to insure the safety of our members, guests, and staff.
We know that these are trying times for everyone. Any donation you can give to save our Pasadena Curves club family will be greatly appreciated!
