HELP NEEDED - My Montessori Jewish Preschool (Formerly known as Today's Montessori)

For 17 years, our Montessori school has been more than a school, it has been a family, a safe and loving space where childhood is celebrated and memories are made. We have danced together under the stars on Shabbat, sung songs with grandparents at holiday celebrations, planted gardens, and watched children grow from their very first steps into curious, kind, and confident young adults.

And now, we find ourselves at a crossroads that will determine whether those memories and traditions can continue for the next generation.

The uncertainty of our licensing appeal has left us unable to welcome new enrollments, while costs continue to weigh heavily.

If we cannot raise enough to cover our bare essentials, simply keeping the school ready to reopen, we risk losing everything we’ve built together.

To carry our school through this storm, we need your help, urgently. Our goal is clear: 200 families contributing $350 each.

Every donation will go directly toward protecting our school, supporting our teachers, maintaining our grounds, and ensuring that when our license is reinstated, we can reopen our doors without delay.

This is not just about keeping a preschool alive, it’s about safeguarding a one-of-a-kind community. Where else have children celebrated Shabbat every Friday, danced in Purim costumes, lit the menorah together, and learned in an environment that nurtures Jewish tradition, Montessori education, and a love of nature all at once?

Look at the pictures we’ve shared over the years on our Today’s Montessori Facebook page , they tell the story of love, joy, and
Jewish tradition that bind us. This is our family’s legacy, and together, we must fight to keep it alive.

The Situation:
After 3 weeks of working closely with the State and pushing to expedite our appeal, all we learned, on Friday, August 29 that it has been reviewed and accepted and the next step is waiting for official documentation and an appeal date. Licensing is giving us no timeline, and the uncertainty is painful for us, our teachers, and our children.

The Good News:
A generous school in Woodland Hills has opened their doors to us, providing a classroom so our children and teachers can stay together. The children have adapted beautifully and are happy to still be with their beloved teachers. This space allows us to continue in the meantime, while we prepare to return home to our beautiful premises when the license is reinstated.

This temporary solution also ensures that the eventual transition back to our beautiful premises will be smooth for everyone.

For Future Enrolled Parents:
Spaces are available at our temporary school with reduced tuition of $1,400 per month, keeping children comfortable with our teachers in a stable, nurturing environment. Please consider sticking it out with us, this is only temporary until we return to our premises. If interested, call (818) [phone redacted].

Friends, this is the moment to act. If our school has touched your family, through your child’s laughter, a Shabbat song, or a community celebration, we humbly ask you to step forward now. Please also share this message with grandparents, friends, and all who have shared in our journey.

Together, we can weather this crisis and ensure that the doors of My Montessori open once more, stronger than ever.

With gratitude and determination,
My Montessori Team
