Save Our Futures Victoria

In six years, Futures Academy in Victoria has touched 183 lives — students who were overlooked, written off, or misunderstood by traditional systems. These are kids with learning disabilities, autism, anxiety, or simply wounded hearts. Every year, we serve about 60 students, each with their own challenges, and each one deserving of the kind of personalized, affirming education we provide.

This May, we’ll have awarded 53 diplomas, nearly all to students once labeled "at-risk." That’s 53 young adults who are now good employees, self-directed learners, and better citizens — not because we had the best facilities or the biggest budget, but because we loved them fiercely, pushed them kindly, and believed in them fully.

And yet, today, we’re at a crossroads.

Due to financial strain and rising costs, we’re facing a $60,000 shortfall — enough to cover rent, payroll, and essential operations for the coming school year. Without this support, Futures Academy will have to close its doors at the end of the semester.

But we believe — deeply — that it doesn’t have to end here. We believe that with the help of people who’ve seen our mission up close, we can stay open another year and keep changing lives.

One of the most powerful ways to help is by sponsoring a student.
A gift of $4,500 can cover a full year of education for one student — including individualized instruction, small group learning that reduces anxiety and boosts engagement, and hands-on experiences that prepare students for real life, like science labs, writing and mailing letters, or learning how to change a tire – in the kind of environment where kids with learning challenges finally start to thrive.
Every one of those stories started with someone believing they were worth it.

We’re inviting you to be that someone again — by making a gift that directly sponsors a student for the coming school year. Or, if that’s not possible, to contribute what you can toward that goal. Every amount helps. Every dollar is impact.

If we don’t reach our full fundraising goal, we are still hoping to remain open through the summer. That would allow us to fast-track a few juniors toward graduation and support our most vulnerable students through the transition to a new school.

We want to end well — but we’d rather not end at all.

If you’re open to giving, or want to talk about how to help, I’d love to connect. Thank you for standing with us. For believing in our students. For being part of the Futures Academy story.

With gratitude and hope,
