Our local community is raising money to benefit Sanderling Waldorf School in North County, and any donation will help make an impact — your contributions are 100% tax deductible!
Sanderling Waldorf School has been serving the diverse communities and children of North San Diego County for over 20 years.
At Sanderling Waldorf School, we foster in each student the capacity for self-knowledge grounded in a lifelong love of learning. It’s our mission to make Waldorf education available for children of all socioeconomic backgrounds! With our thriving Access-To-All Tuition Program, over 50% of our currently enrolled families are benefiting from significantly reduced tuition and tuition assistance.
Unfortunately, our small non-profit, self-funded school has been greatly impacted by COVID-19:
* We’re now experiencing 40% less than normal enrollment (now average for Waldorf schools in the USA since COVID-19),
* Higher than normal applications for tuition assistance from families who are suffering the economic impact of COVID-19, and
* The need to refurbish and rearrange our campus to meet the safety standards and requirements for safe in-person learning during the pandemic
All of this has strained our finances and melted away our financial reserves.
Waldorf education is rooted in engaging the whole child through a developmentally appropriate curriculum that addresses each child's physical, emotional and intellectual needs. We believe in a Hands, Head, Heart approach to learning, where our educators teach in a way that speaks to the senses and the soul of the child.
We want to continue bringing the magic of Waldorf education to the children of North San Diego County — but we need your help!
Our goal is to raise a total of $135,000. As we meet each tier below, we’ll continue to be able to save our school!
Your donations will help with:
TIER 1: Funding Teacher Salaries ($35,000)
Given the substantial impact of our global pandemic, our teachers have already generously agreed to take a salary reduction in order to continue educating our next generation of children. Our teachers are working extra hours with reduced pay under stressful conditions imposed by the pandemic guidelines. Your donation supports the livelihood of our teachers and staff during this incredibly challenging time.
TIER 2: Funding our ATA (Access to All) Tuition Assistance Program ($35,000)
We believe in diversity, inclusion and equity. Your donation will support children of all socioeconomic backgrounds to be able to attend Sanderling Waldorf School. Over half of our student population benefits from this Tuition Assistance fund. You can help a child who would otherwise be unable to have access to this education.
TIER 3: COVID-19 Safety Requirements ($25,000)
In order to meet the state's ever-changing regulations to ensure safety, our Sanderling Waldorf school has made essential updates to our campus. Your donation will support the supplies and building updates necessary for in-person learning, such as spacious tents for outdoor in-person classrooms, hand washing stations and sanitation equipment and services, as well as provide Personal Protective Equipment for our educators, and staff and students.
TIER 4: Funding Arts in Education and Subject Classes ($40,000)
Social Emotional Learning has never been more important, especially as so many children are being asked to participate in distance learning. Your donation enables our Nursery Kindergarten through Eighth Graders to continue experiencing a diverse curriculum focused on vital interpersonal skills rooted in a holistic learning approach that engages Head, Heart and Hands. Your donations will help us bring back programs that we had to cut due to lack of funding, such as Parent and Child, Handwork, Foreign languages, and Eurythmy classes.
