Beirut Explosion Urgent Community Support

Donation protected
On Tuesday, August 4th 2020 our home country Lebanon suffered an unthinkable tragedy, a massive explosion blasted in the capital Beirut that killed over 200 civilians, injured 6,000 and displaced 300,000 people who are now homeless.

Our grandparents owned a small apartment in Beirut’s Mar Mikhaël neighborhood, which was badly impacted after last week’s explosions. As grandchildren spread between Lebanon and the diaspora, we decided to start this fundraiser to help restore the historical building we grew up visiting and ensure our grandparents’ elderly neighbors have safe and warm homes before the winter starts.
Your generous donation will also provide food, clothes and medicine to the affected people during this tragic explosion in a faster manner.

Due to the economic turmoil Lebanese families have been going through for a while now, culminating in hyperinflation and now the horrific explosions, our parents and our grandparents’ neighbors don’t have enough resources to rebuild their apartments and fix the building’s structural issues. Many of the neighbors we grew up with are now having to choose between homelessness and dangerous living situations.
For  this reason, we are hoping to raise money from this fundraiser to help rebuild and aid in any way possible.

Additionally, we will split the money with Scouts of Lebanon to help provide them with supplies as they have been sending their members to help clean up streets and homes from the rubbles and shattered glass throughout Beirut as well as distribute food to those that are now facing hunger.
As little as USD 50 or CAD 65 can feed an affected family for 14 days.

We have direct family members that are members of Scouts of Lebanon and thus, can ensure that the donations and aid are received in a timely manner. Your donation will be managed with complete transparency.

Thank you so much for supporting our efforts and for giving the affected people in Beirut.
