Hello. We are Misty and Ashia, Mother and Daughter, and owners of The Midnight Dreary Bookstore in Port St Lucie Florida. We opened our doors January 8, 2025 and have had an amazing first year. We are very small but have built such a large and wonderful book community in this first year and have so much more to offer. We have had the goal of growing into a larger store and expanding since opening but it was not yet in the cards. As most of you know the first year of running a small business takes quite a lot and we were not quite ready to move just yet.

However, on Jan 7th just a day shy of our one year anniversary it was made abundantly clear to us that we are no longer welcome in the location we rent. We no longer feel comfortable being in our current location. Nor do we feel we con operate our bookstore in a way that makes us proud and our customers happy. We have chosen not to renew our lease that expires March 4th. While we thought we would have much more time to plan and save and do all the things needed to make our big move to a larger location, we now have 7 weeks! We have loved every bit of this last year and we don't want to close our doors. To make it happen we are gonna need some help!

At the advice of so many of our amazing customers we are starting this gofundme to help us secure a new location. The funds donated would be used for the first, last and security cost. We know it's a big ask and we truly understand that we may not get the full amount and that is ok! Every donation will help so much and we will be able to turn this into something to celebrate together!

Our goal is to reopen the bookstore with a cafe and bakery! Hey, go big or go home right? It will be a space to hang out with other book lovers, have book club, craft nights, movie nights, sing-a-longs, and so so so much more that I have in my list of events!
