Update: We have such sad news to share with you: our beloved Zinnia died late yesterday from her injuries. Our hearts are breaking, but we are so grateful to all the animal lovers who helped us on our GoFundMe page. The vet bills were over $7,000 and your incredible generosity will help me not stress so much over money during this difficult time. Our dear sweet kitty Zinnia was attacked by a dog and has internal bleeding. She is receiving a blood transfusion to save her life. We are raising money to pay for her $6-9,000 hospital bills - any little amount will help us save her life!

We volunteer for the Pasadena Humane Society by walking dogs on Sundays and spending the day with them. This week we had a German shepherd who was just the sweetest thing. When we stopped at home for a few minutes we put the cats in our bedrooms, but because he was so mild-mannered and friendly we weren’t paying close enough attention and Zinnia got out and came downstairs. When the dog saw her I guess his prey instinct kicked in and he chased her upstairs so fast we couldn’t get to her in time. We rushed her to the emergency room at VCA Specialty Animal Group, where the incredibly skilled vets are doing everything to save her life.

Zinnia is my son's cat, sister to my other son's cat, and my special baby. She is just so, so darling -- she is a one-in-a-million cat. We adore her and our hearts are broken thinking of all she’s going through. Please send us healing wishes as she goes through this procedure. Thank you for helping us in any way you can!
