Support Choco's Urgent Surgery Needs

Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out to ask for help for our beloved 5-month-old Yorkie, Choco. He’s more than just a dog—he’s our baby, our little shadow, and the heart of our home. Choco has been recently diagnosed with a portosystemic liver shunt (specifically, an extrahepatic shunt), which means the blood that’s supposed to go through his liver to be cleaned is being diverted around it. Because of this, toxins that would normally be filtered out build up in his body and start affecting his brain and organs.

We first noticed something was wrong when Choco started showing strange neurological symptoms—he would press his head into corners, stumble, and sometimes walk as if he were confused or blind. He’s also had scary episodes where his mouth locks open, he paces around and drools uncontrollably, and he struggles to get comfortable for hours. After multiple vet visits and tests, we finally got the heartbreaking news that he needs major surgery.

The surgery itself can cost upwards of $5,000, and that doesn’t include the cost of his hospital stay, ongoing medications, bloodwork, or future monitoring. We’re doing everything we can, but the financial burden is overwhelming.

Choco is the gentlest, sweetest little dog. He loves curling up in warm blankets, laying in the sunlight, and playing tug of war with socks. Despite his health challenges, he still greets us with love every day. We just want to give him the happy, pain-free life he deserves.
