Help Save Maverick – Our Loving Golden Retriever

Our sweet boy, Maverick, is fighting for his life.

Maverick is a 6½-year-old golden retriever who has been with us since he was just 7 weeks old. From the moment we brought him home, he’s been so much more than a pet. He’s our best friend, our companion through every season of life. He’s been there through career changes, navigating adulthood, our wedding, becoming parents, and countless moments of joy. He’s fun, outgoing, full of energy, loves everyone he meets, and is the best big brother to our two year old.

On August 9th, Maverick was rushed to the ER after rapidly losing weight and struggling to breathe. The vets discovered fluid in both his abdomen and chest that must be removed immediately, followed by surgery and ongoing treatment. The most likely cause is a cancerous mass in his abdomen — but with treatment, he has a real chance to survive.

We’re doing everything we can to save him, but the cost of emergency care, surgery, and treatment is overwhelming. We’ve been denied CareCredit and other payment plan options, and we need to raise $3,000 as quickly as possible. Without this care, we may be forced to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye…something we’re desperately trying to avoid because we know Maverick can pull through with the right help.
