Hello my name is Kelsey. I am making this gofund me on behalf of Gymnastic Academy North in Roscoe, IL. The gym is owned by Max and Donya. The gym is so much more than a gym. We have felt nothing but welcomed and like family since my daughter has started. She gets so excited every week to see coach Max, Rhen and the other coaches. I watch each week as they make every kid feel so welcomed to be there! My daughter gets especially excited when we see coach Max at the grocery store (he’s pretty much a celebrity when we see him outside of the gym). We received an email from the gym this week that they were closed to due a family emergency. If your kids go to Gymnastics Academy North I am sure you received the same email we did, and if your heart sank for them, like mine did then you understand why I am creating this. There has been multiple factors to the closing this week, including previous health issues and financial issues. This has led to them sitting with a hard decision to close the gym for good. I know the gym has not only touched the hearts of so many kids but parents as well. When my daughter (who is 8) asked why they were closed I tried to explain as best as I could the financial situation, and here response to me “well can’t we just give them the money to stay open?” I know that Max and Donya have a plan to fight to stay open through other fundraisers and making changes at the gym, but like my daughter, I would like to extend any help I/we can as a community. This is a GREAT family and a great gym. I do not want to have to send my daughter to another gym. So I am here writing this and making this gofund me selfishly so they do not close. If any of you know coach Max and the family I am sure you feel the same way as I do. Anything helps and would be greatly appreciated. I hope I am not out of line for creating this and I don’t offend Max or Donya. But I felt it in my heart to make this.
