On Wednesday August 22 our 5 year old  Pitmix Kya started showing signs of being paralyzed in her front two legs, they are/were buckling beneath her, and she was unsteady while moving and walking. This came out of the blue. We took her to the vet immeadiately where she had X-rays and blood work to rule out infection, and Lyme disease. Her blood work came back clear today. They prescribed her meds to keep her comfortable as well as prednisone to try and help Incase it is a form of slipped or ruptured disc. As of today she is completely paralyzed in the front of her body. She isn’t able to lift herself off the ground and She is now unable to stand let alone walk on her own. Her back legs are now also becoming affected. We got a phone call today that because she was declining we could bring her back to see the second vet who works at Bridgeville animal hospital. We had two choices, to let Kya go, or help her fight and get her an MRI to find out what’s really
going on. It could be possible that what’s going on with her is not curable, or inoperable, or it could be something we could have corrected with surgery or PT. We want to help KYA fight, she is one of our babies, unfortunately it is very very expensive to give
your pets the medical attention they deserve. We would normally never ask for help, but it is so hard to let her go without trying to help her first. We would appreciate any help you can give us to at least get her the $3,000 MRI to try to save her life. This is our last resort, it has been a real roller coaster of emotions this week, she is so young and we just want what’s best for her. Thank you for reading ❤️
