Save Our Acute Services is a community campaign group, founded in October 2022, due to the collapse of Emergency General Surgery at the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH). We are an evidence based and data driven campaign who advocate for a fair, fit-for-purpose rural healthcare system.
SWAH is a lifeline for families across our area. For many of us, it has been there at the most critical moments of our lives. However, decisions being made now could permanently remove vital acute services. As you know, if we let that happen, patients will continue to face longer journeys, longer waits, and greater health risks.
Our population must have equal access to emergency services within a critical, life-saving time/distance – which is why SWAH was built in Enniskillen.

This campaign is run by the community, for the community. We have quietly relied on the generous help of a few to support our efforts thus far – with recent developments we now need to take our campaign to the next level.
We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), and every donation is used to support our campaigning work.
Your contribution helps us to:
- Print leaflets, posters, and banners so everyone knows what is at stake
- Hold public meetings and community events across the area
- Keep our website and social media up to date with clear, factual information
- Gather evidence, patient stories, and facts to strengthen our case
- Travel to speak directly with MLAs, health officials, public bodies, and decision-makers
- Hold the Western Trust to account in a legal challenge.
Every Donation Makes a Difference:
- £5 helps print information leaflets
- £10 supports local meetings and outreach
- £25 helps fund banners and community events
- £100+ enables us to ramp up the campaign in 2026.
We welcome business donations and community fundraising activities on our behalf.
Whether you can give a little or a lot, every contribution matters and helps to keep this campaign visible and strong.
Our Promise to You:
- We are local, transparent, and accountable
- We campaign peacefully and responsibly
- Funds are used only for community campaigning and engagement
- We speak up for patients, families, and future generations.
Together, we can make sure that our rural community is not forgotten and that life-saving services remain close to home.
