Update:
Oren has taken a serious turn for the worse. He is now septic, has fluid in his abdomen, and is on multiple antibiotics. He’s being fed through a gastro tube, but he can only tolerate very small amounts. Overnight, they pulled out far more fluid than they were able to put in, which is a very concerning sign.
His kidney values are elevated, and his neurological symptoms have progressed — he has a head tilt, difficulty walking, delayed paw responses, unequal pupils, and he can no longer stand up without support.
The vets are trying so hard to stabilize him so we can get him to a neurologist as soon as possible. We’re doing everything we can, but the costs are rising faster than we can keep up. We’ve applied for every loan and every grant we can find. We just want to give him a fighting chance.
If you can donate or share, it truly helps keep him alive right now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hi, I’m Beth, and I’m fundraising for my sweet 14-year old dog Oren, who is currently fighting through a sudden, serious medical crisis. Oren is more than a pet — he’s family. He’s been with me for ten years, asleep on my lap during study sessions, snuggled beside me through hard days, and making friends with everyone he meets despite being completely deaf.
A few days ago, Oren became very sick very quickly. After rushing him to the emergency vet, we learned that a large mass of chewed material has remained stuck in his stomach for several days, making him too weak to walk or eat. He is hospitalized and receiving supportive care, but he is declining and may need surgery once he’s stable enough to survive it.
I’ve never been someone who easily asks for help, but right now I can’t give Oren what he needs on my own. Emergency hospitalization and potential surgery are far outside my financial reach, so I’m turning to the kindness of others. I want to be fully transparent — I’ve shared his test results, vet notes, and the detailed cost estimate so you can see exactly what your support will pay for. Thank you for even taking the time to read this.
