Save Ophelia and Oreo: Fighting FIP Together
Donation protected
I'm Sharon - a vet who, like many, was often asked to put down once-loved or sometimes never-loved pets simply because they had nowhere else to go. Vets set out to help animals, and having to see them through their last moments because humans had failed them wasn't something I could stomach.
So I started Celandine Wood Animal Rescue. We're a small Wirral-based animal rescue running by the skin of our teeth to help the animals that come into our care - animals that are either abandoned, injured, sick, or moments from being put to sleep. Animals for whom we are their very last chance.
At the beginning of each day, we often don't know how we'll make it to the end and help all the animals that need us - financially or otherwise. It's daily donations that get us through.
And today, it's Ophelia and Oreo who need help.
Ophelia and Oreo are two beautiful cats facing the same heartbreaking battle: FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) , a devastating disease caused by a coronavirus that isn’t contagious to humans.
Ophelia, a sweet and loving black cat, and Oreo, a young black-and-white cat surrendered by his previous owners, are both showing heartbreaking symptoms like weight loss, lethargy, and blindness.
The good news is that there’s a cure with over 80% success rate. The challenge is that this medication is not readily available and comes at a significant cost. Without it, both Ophelia and Oreo will not survive.
We need your help to raise £10,000 to cover the cost of this life-saving treatment for both cats. Every donation will make a huge difference in giving them a fighting chance at life.
Please consider contributing and sharing their story. Together, we can give Ophelia and Oreo the second chance they deserve. Thank you for your kindness and support! ❤️
