Rebuild OpenBox Athletics

1/1/2021 We are disheartened to report that OpenBox Athletics suffered a fire on the night of January 1. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the gym has been left severely damaged. The Philadelphia Fire Department responded quickly to control the flames and we are so grateful to those brave firefighters. No neighboring buildings were affected, which is a credit to their fast response and incredible work. We are also proud to have a strong and committed community that has already given us an outpouring of support, and we are incredibly grateful for that.

In just a few days, we were looking forward to reopening our doors, as some of the city’s COVID restrictions are being lifted.  So while this is a painful setback, we are turning to you for help in rebuilding as fast as possible. With funds raised, we hope to continue supporting our coaching staff, replace destroyed equipment, and recreate the special space we all know and love.

OBA is not just a gym to us. From the dedicated coaches and members to the energetic pups, this community has become a second family, a second home, and we will absolutely Rebuild OpenBox Athletics.

We want to thank you in advance for your support and contributions. We hope to once again provide you with a place you are proud of, a place to reach your health goals, and a place you miss just as much as we do.  We are confident that OBA v2.0 will be all of that and more, and believe that the comeback is always greater than the setback.
