Save “Open Stage” Community Performance Platform

Open Stage is a free Truckee community music event. By donating you are helping save this free all ages community event which helps develop local music talent. This event has been going strong since January of 2022 with weekly Monday night shows from 6:30-9:30. Being not just “Open Mic” but “Open Stage” with a whole backline set up for you to walk up and play with. The Stage always has a full drum set, multiple guitar amplifiers, bass amplifier, keyboard, and many microphones set up ready to go. Open Stage is a great way for a young band to practice performing live in front of their friends and family. This leads to excitement, an outlet for youth to perform, provides exposure and feedback. Musicians need this type of event. It’s a crucial part of growing as a musician getting to perform for an audience, leading to future opportunities for musicians, while creating a great gathering for the local music scene. We are asking the community for funding to help create a budget to keep this going on a consistent basis. The donations would pay for upgrades in equipment, labor and maintenance. This will create a higher level performance platform for the community and the musicians.

This platform provides a professional outlet for local bands. It gives new performers a chance to feel a real performance situation.. Many young acts have used this as a way to practice in a live show scenario.
In order to keep this event “Free”:
I am asking the community for funding to help create a budget to keep this going on a consistent basis. The funding would allow for upgrades of equipment as well as labor, maintenance, storage,and transportation
I hope to continue to create and maintain this event’s success. In hope to make a weekly gathering of musicians and enthusiasts in support of each other.
Community is crucial, this event brings many people together. Young children to seniors have performed at this event. It is a great thing for the local music scene.
I love doing this and I believe that this project brings something unique to our community which will help a new generation of musicians grow.
