Save the Open Door Learning Center in Minneapolis!

The Open Door Learning Center has been serving immigrants and refugees in the Twin Cities for years. In the last few days, the organization's Lake Street location was decimated during the chaotic protests for justice for George Floyd.

The refugee and immigrant community, especially those who identify as people of color, has been experiencing a unique type of pain during these events. There have been reports of violence and destruction triggering painful memories within our refugee community (many of whom have experiences with war and direct violence).  Many may have lost important parts of their communities or businesses.

I am raising money to help rebuild the Lake Street Open Door Learning Center. Volunteers at the Open Door Learning Center teach English and Citizenship classes to immigrants and refugees, which is crucial to empowering the community.  I volunteered with Open Door during the 2019-2020 school year, and I have witnessed first-hand how important their work is.

Please donate and help rebuild the Open Door Learning Center in this time of crisis!
