Save Onyx: Critical Care for PTSD Service Dog
Donation protected
We adopted our sweet Onyx and he has now been highly trained as my husband’s PTSD service dog. I can’t put into words what he means to our entire family.
Earlier this week, he somehow got into some rat poison. He was rushed to a local emergency veterinary hospital and is still in critical condition. Essentially, the poison is an anticoagulant and causes excessive bleeding, and they are not able to clot to stop it. He is currently receiving his fourth treatment of plasma, and I’ve lost track of how many blood transfusions he’s had at this point.
We are continuing to do whatever is necessary to try to save him, but he’s not out of the woods yet. Our current statement, as of this morning, is around $9k, and I foresee that number continuing to rise with future needed treatments. Please give any, if you are able.
