Save Ollie the German Sherpherd
Ollie is an 8 month old German Shepherd puppy. He is my baby. Today I found out that he has a congenital birth defect which has resulted in a fractured elbow requiring specialist surgery. The cost of this surgery will be thousands of dollars. Thousands that I do not have. I would hate to see this 8 month old puppy, who has barely begun life, be put down due to a vet bill and a defect that was out of anyone's control.
Let me tell you a story...
When I was a toddler, my family had 3 German Shepherds. Growing up I always had a love for the breed and always aspired to one day have my own.
2016 and the beginning of 2017 was a very dark time for me. I was going through a lot, such as a bad relationship ending that broke me as a person and deaths in the family. These events left me depressed and suicidal. I had a huge void in my life that needed to be filled...
Why not a dog?
Enter Ollie. I searched high and low for the perfect German Shepherd. I eventually found Ollie; a 10-week-old, grey little fluffball. I instantly fell in love when I saw his picture. I knew I had to have him.
Within 48 hours, he was mine. He has been the love of my life ever since. I couldn't imagine my life without him and he means the world to me. He has been my rock, the cornerstone in which I rebuilt my life.
I live a life where I try to give back wherever possible. I house and feed my medically disabled mother, my best friend and her husband who fell on hard times, and my brother who recently relocated back to Canada.
I have always given all I can to people and have done my best to be a genuine, kind, and generous human being. I seldom ask for help and it hurts my pride to do this, I wouldn't be asking otherwise.
This isn't for me, this is for Ollie.
