Hey Everyone,
Zachariah from Old Moon Tattoo Collective. Life in the time of Covid19 is crazy, and times are hard. We need your help saving Old Moon! We’ve got big news! After 4+ beautiful years of tattooing in gorgeous Waimea, we will be transitioning our Tattoo Collective to Kailua Kona. The people of Waimea have been great to us and we will sincerely miss working within this community. Now, to keep growing we have decided to make the move and look forward to the art and tattoo opportunities in Kona.
This transition holds creative potential for our Old Moon artists, as well as many local artists on the Big Island. We are an art collective, and our vision is to grow that through championing artist of all mediums. Yes, we specialize in tattooing, but we are advocates for the arts, champions of the artist through and through.
When we transition to Kona, as we have done in Waimea, will be hosting "open mic" poetry nights, art shows exhibiting local artists, community tattoo events, art nights and more! We hope to contribute to the creative culture in Kona by creating a space of involvement and participation. We want you to partner with us to get there.
We are aware that its a strange time in the world with Covid19 and a seeming social restructuring on the horizon. It is in times such as these that the arts help link us together and feel all the feels.
We will be out of our current space by July 31, and hope to be in a Kona space by August 1 as to not skip a beat. But if we need more time, then we need more time. Our fundraising goal is $7500 to make this transition possible. We will be using the funds to pay deposits for lease, transferring our utilities over and redesigning the space. We will be zoning in on our vision to be more sustainable and eco friendly, creating a space that is warm and welcoming to our clients, as well as aligning with our core values so everyone can have a pleasant and easy tattoo experience.
The space we're looking at is in the heart of downtown Kona. We've decided to start small and build the collective as we grow our relationship with the community and the artists in it.
We need your help, so let’s do this together!
-Donations of $10 to $50 will be matched in equal value gift certificates or sticker packets by your request.
-Donations of $51 to $250 will be matched plus an additional 50% toward tattoo credit from Zachariah ... ie: your $200 donation turns into a $300 credit toward your session.
-Donations of $251 and up will be matched plus an additional 100% toward your tattoo! ...ie: you donate $400, I'll give you $800 in tattoo credit.
If you are feeling generous, these gift certificates may even be shared/split with a friend!
Non Hawai'i Island Residents;
If you make a donation but have no plans on coming to the island to get tattooed, Zachariah is working on a series of original, hand drawn art pieces that will be shipped out to donors as soon as they become ready.
If you do plan on coming to visit beautiful Hawai'i and have made a donation, we will be sending out gift certificates in the appropriate amount as soon as humanly possible.
We are excited about sharing this new project with you, and hope you will consider joining in this next chapter of our story.
Sincerely,
Old Moon Family
