Nova is only 4 years old, but she has already shown more courage and love than most experience in a lifetime. Rescued from a heartbreaking past—locked outside against a fence, neglected and forgotten—she found her forever family through the Humane Society. When she arrived, Nova was already battling heartworms, but she never gave up. For over a year and a half, she pushed through treatment, healed, and chose life. In that time, she became everything to her family: the dog who runs around the house squeaking her Scooby toy, lives for fetch, and carries her beloved Lamb Chop everywhere she goes. Nova loves the beach, jumping into the waves at Venice Dog Beach, and she protects her home and her boy, Christopher, with her whole heart. She sleeps in bed, gives kisses, and just wants to be close to her family. Nova isn’t just a dog—she is love in its purest form. Now, Nova needs us to fight for her. Her family just received devastating news: Nova’s body is attacking itself, destroying her red blood cells. She is struggling to get oxygen, her heart rate is dangerously high, and she is in pain. The treatment she needs to survive is a blood transfusion. Her family is doing everything they can, but they cannot do this alone. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Nova’s emergency blood transfusion, medications, and follow-up care. Your support will give Nova the chance to keep living the joyful life she fought so hard for. If you can give—even a little—it truly matters. If you can’t, please share Nova’s story. Nova is not done loving her family yet, and they are not ready to say goodbye. Thank you for helping us fight for her.
