Nino is an incredibly sweet, playful youngster at the very beginning of his life. But recently, a heartbreaking "wrong place, wrong time" freak accident turned his world upside down.

During a routine feeding time, Nino excitedly dashed past his foster carer’s resident dog, who was waiting for his meal. In a split-second, tragic reaction, the dog gave a quick warning bite – a sudden incident from a gentle pet who had never shown an ounce of aggression toward cats before – and happened to catch Nino’s head between his jaws. It was a tragic mishap, but for tiny Nino, the physical toll was devastating.

Nino was rushed straight to the emergency hospital, where he stayed overnight. After several hours of IV fluids and pain medication, follow-up skull X-rays revealed the true extent of his injury: Nino suffered a displaced fracture to his frontal bone (his forehead), and the trauma was strong enough to displace part of his delicate internal nasal structures through the fracture site.

Despite suffering significant facial trauma, this little fighter has remained remarkably stable, brave, and sweet. But he has a long road to recovery ahead. To give Nino the best possible chance at a normal, pain-free life, he urgently needs an advanced CT scan to map out his delicate nasal and facial anatomy, followed by specialised surgery to repair the fracture and realign his nasal structures. Without this critical intervention, Nino faces a high risk of chronic pain, breathing difficulties, severe nasal blockages, and recurrent infections.

Nino’s skull reconstruction surgery is booked for Friday 7th August, which gives us just two days to raise enough funds to be able to afford to give him another shot at life.

As a rescue, we refuse to let an accident decide the fate of such a young, promising life. Nino deserves every chance to grow up, play, and find a loving forever family. However, emergency veterinary care comes at a high cost:
