My 14-year-old Chihuahua, Nina, has been in good health her whole life, but now she has been diagnosed with pyometra, a serious uterine infection with fluid in her uterus. She was never spayed, and this diagnosis has left us facing an emergency we were not prepared for.

This is especially hard because Nina is more than a pet to our family. She is an emotional support animal for my 78-year-old mom, and Nina means so much to us all every single day. Getting her the surgery she needs would give our family real relief and the chance to keep her with us.
