Hi, my name is Jake. I am the proud father of Nero, a beautiful Lab, Boxer, Pitt, and Pointer mix. I believe he acquired all the best traits from each breed. He's brilliant, extremely loyal, and playful with children; even our two cats enjoy playing and cuddling with him. Some of his favorite things are fishing, camping, hunting, running in the snow with his mouth open, and playing with his sister, a Siamese kitty. Most of all, Nero loves to swim!

He turned 10 in September and still acts like a 2-year-old puppy, full of life and energy. Sadly, he has developed periodontal disease and has already lost a couple of teeth. The Vet informed us he is in extremely healthy condition and will continue living a full and happy life as long as we extract a couple more of his infected teeth and some of the infected root system. Dogs undergoing this operation have a full recovery and may continue eating solid foods and dragging their favorite stick around. Untreated, Nero will potentially develop infections leading to his passing, which I would not let him go through.

Nero entered my life shortly after I was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 2012. Transitioning to civilian life proved more stressful than I had ever imagined, and without Nero's silly personality and big heart, I don't know how I would have made it this far in life.
