Save Neo: Urgent Medical Care Needed
Donation protected
update: we had more bloodwork done and it showed that his kidney levels are gradually stabilizing. treatment and meds seem to be making an improvement and he’s finally started eating and walking around again.
i’ll pause donations here once we’re done re-checking bloodwork and figuring out further treatment, anything extra will go towards paying off the care credit debt we’ve racked up before creating this page. thank you so much to everyone who’s helped out so far.
on friday night i had to take our cat, Neo, in to the emergency vet. he was lethargic and stumbling, barely responsive. we had bloodwork done which showed kidney levels spiked past what the test could read. we were told the most humane and loving thing to do would be to put him to sleep right then and there. they were also closing at the time. we took shifts sleeping and watching him all night.
the next morning we went back and were rushed into the euthanasia room. when i asked to speak to another veterinarian to see if anything else could be done, she looked at his bloodwork, gave him antibiotics and said he doesn’t look like a cat who is ready to go and that we can still try a lot of things to help him. he went from barely moving to walking around, drinking and eating, and overall looking nothing like he did when we first went in. he is by no means in good health again but he’s not giving up, either.
we’ve already maxed out our care credit and we’re being told he could need thousands more in follow up bloodwork, fluid treatments, blood transfusions and other hospital care.
Neo is only 8 years old, if there’s even a slight chance he can pull through we need to try everything we can. i’m doing what i can to find ways to cover this but any donations will help more than i can express. he’s the sweetest little vampire fanged boy and our lives wouldn’t be the same without him.
