Help Nelson Thrive - Support for a Brave Survivor

On January 31, our beloved family dog, Nelson, became the victim of a horrifying incident. Our neighbors' Rottweilers attacked him, animals flagged as dangerous by the City of Garland Animal Control as early as January 23, 2024. Despite numerous pleas and repeated incidents of these Rottweilers escaping and terrorizing our neighborhood, authorities were unable to take effective action. Since December 17, these Rottweilers have repeatedly broken through their owner's fence, over five reported occasions, roaming freely and risking our community. Animal Control did not act proactively to these dangerous Rottweilers that had previously killed another neighbor's dog. The police explained they couldn't intervene until a human was harmed. This negligence led to the aforementioned events of January 31st, where tragedy struck as these Rottweilers again escaped and attacked our beloved Nelson. Despite our efforts to seek help, the Rottweilers severely injured Nelson's leg, tearing away most of the skin leaving muscle and tendons exposed. Attempts to save his leg involved consulting three surgeons. After further consultation, doctors revealed that the damage was too severe, leading to the heartbreaking decision to amputate.
