Family’s Mama Dog Shot! Save Nana: Help with Surgery Bills
Donation protected
UPDATE: First off HUGE thank you! To anyone who donated/shared! All the vet bills so far have been covered. Nana is recovering well but still a long road ahead. Our vet wants to wait until after her next heat cycle is over to do the surgery to remove the bullet. She does show signs of pain when going faster than a walking speed, also doesn’t let the other dogs play with her as much yet. We also learned that the other dog injured that night has a fractured front leg so we are going over options for treating that as well.
Our lovely Newfoundland dog, Little Miss Nana Bear, was shot by someone passing our home late at night on January 10th. She was wounded, and we needed to take her to the emergency vet. We got X-rays and found that the bullet went in her hind end (shot while running away), traveled through her privates, and into her leg. It lodged itself behind her knee. The bullet went through her femoral artery and ended up hitting her femur just above the knee joint. She has a massive hematoma. She will be needing surgery sometime soon to get the bullet removed, plus other follow-up visits and medication. She is currently on prescription antibiotics and pain meds. She is such a wonderful dog and deserves to live a long, happy, and fulfilled life. Nana and our family thank you!
