Help Me Save My Mother’s Home and Legacy
Hi everyone,
I never thought I would be sharing something this painful, but I’m asking for help to save my mother’s home—the last piece of her that we have left.
My mother was a strong, loving woman who worked hard her entire life to build a home for her children. It was her pride and joy—a place where all of us could feel safe, no matter what we were going through.
Tragically, my mother lost her life in the very home she worked so hard for. She passed away while trying to save her son who was struggling with drug addiction. After relapsing, he took her life in that home. This has left our family devastated beyond words.
While I was incarcerated for the past 13 years, everything changed. I came home in October 2025 to a world without my mother—only the pieces she left behind, including the home she gave everything to build.
Since my release, I’ve been doing everything I can to restore what’s left. The house has suffered significant damage, and property taxes have gone unpaid. One of my siblings, who was living in the home, has also been dealing with deep trauma from everything that happened there, which has unfortunately added to the condition of the house.
Right now, we are at risk of losing the home completely.
I am trying to raise $5,000 to cover the overdue property taxes and begin repairing the damage so we can keep my mother’s home in the family. I have been working hard to fix what I can since returning home, and I’ve included photos to show the current condition of the house.
This home is more than just a place to live—it’s the last connection we have to my mother, her love, and everything she sacrificed for us. Losing it would feel like losing her all over again.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward saving her home. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me fight to hold onto the last piece of my mother’s legacy.
With gratitude,
Raymundo Rivera
