I am trying to raise money to get my mother’s house out of foreclosure. My mother passed away December 2018 and she left me her house. For the 6 months that her live-in boyfriend lived there after she died, he refused to pay the mortgage. This got the mortgage behind tremendously. 

I moved into the house a year ago and have been rehabbing it. The house and property require a lot of repairs and landscaping. 

The mortgage loan was bought by another company and they wanted the full unpaid balance brought up to date or they would proceed with foreclosure. They refused to accept any payments from me that did not pay off the balance.

At this time the mortgage payments are $1,149 a month, the total owed on the house is $91,964.03, and the balance due to reinstate the loan is $21,217.61.

I would like to pay off the $21,217 balance, but at this time I only have $15,000. I am asking to raise $7,000 to end the foreclosure.

If I cannot, then I have to fight this in court and apply to take ownership of the loan. I will be denied because right now my income is way too low to be accepted. I will be forced to sign the deed over to the loan company or let the house go to Sheriff’s sale.

I love this house and the 2 acres of land it’s on. I want to keep my mother’s memory alive and maintain the house and garden as she would want.
