Please Help Me Save My House

Donation protected
Sad, bad news for my family of six. My super long fight for my house is over and we lost.
I also have 3 English Bulldogs that I will NEVER put into a shelter or abandon.
Just backing up a bit for those that don’t know.
On June 11, 2003 one of my 13 year old special education students tried to murder me in my classroom. It was an all out physical fight for survival. It started in my classroom, went out in the hallway, went down the hallway and through 2 steel doors. As he was trying to throw me down the stairs, someone entered the staircase and he ran. I was seriously injured. I had him arrested and he was charged with premeditated murder as an adult. The charge was changed and the trial was in family court. It was a joke. He was sentenced to one year in a residential facility. My triplets were just turning 3 years old and thankfully don’t remember it at all.
I needed so many surgeries to put my body back together. They were all major surgeries. I could not do anything with or for my kids. I returned to teach on the first day of school in September 2003 with fierce determination. Unfortunately, Bloomberg was dismantling the NYCBOE and the district offices were part of it. Employees in those offices with no school/classroom experience were given careers in public schools. A disgusting excuse for a human being was sent to my school as the principal. She was very mean verbally and emotionally. She was a liar, a racist and an antisemite. She put me through complete and utter hell. I suffered from PTSD and was treated for many years.
I endured so many painful surgeries and painful physical therapy but everything unraveled as the principal purposely moved me to the 4th floor in a building with no elevator. I collapsed in the building five weeks short of my 20 year pension mark in 2005. I sued the NYCBOE but it was a joke. I filed a grievance against the principal and I won but she knew someone in the personnel office and had my entire employee folder shredded. Gone were copies of all of my licenses, my achievements, etc. Physically, I could not return. I had to have more surgeries to try and fix the surgeries that had unraveled. Every summer my husband and I would empty out our bank accounts to send our kids to camp because I could not do anything with or for them. In 2006 and 2007 I was subbing in Nassau County but I could not take the physical pain anymore and went to an excellent attorney to apply for SSD.
I paid the mortgage until there wasn’t anymore money and we fell behind in the mortgage payments. I went to a husband/wife real estate attorney team and they had one girl working for them. This girl helped me apply for the “Making Home Affordable Program” and I got a modified, affordable payment just as my SSD started in 2009. I made the 3 trial payments and received a letter with the 4th payment that the payment was being raised by $450.00 each month. I went back to the attorneys and the girl forgot to mention that once off the trial, the payment could be raised due to negative escrow. The mortgage payment was affordable. The Nassau County taxes were not. She NEVER mentioned that to me. Not once. Out of good faith, I paid the modified amount for just about a year until one day a letter came from the bank stating that they would no longer accept payments.
For the next two years I fought the bank on my own in court. I banked all of the mortgage payments because I was sure that everything would be straightened out. At a certain point at the end of the two years, I hired an attorney to help me stay out of foreclosure. He helped me keep my kids in the Plainview/Old Bethpage School District until they graduated High School. Each motion that he filed (and there were too many to count) was done at a discounted rate for me at $2,200.00. Each time that I had to show up in court he charged me a discounted rate of $450.00. I had to used the mortgage money that I had banked.
At the same time, my attorney applied for a modification again only this time there were no programs under the current president. I was charged $2,500.00 and $450.00 for court appearances. The money continued to come out of my banked mortgage money. I wrote a letter to Social Security asking for permission to dog sit/dog walk and it was granted. My bank account was pretty much depleted due to the attorney payments so I started banking the dog sitting money.
A few years ago my house was plagued with the infamous pinhole leaks. I lost my entire kitchen, one full bathroom and my basement.
My plumber stopped the pinhole leaks at a very reasonable rate. I had to hire a waterproofing company and then a contractor. The work that was done was beautiful until January of 2017 when the contractor stopped all work for several weeks and kept the payment we had just made. Unbeknownst to me, he (or his workers) stole my engagement and wedding rings, some of my mom’s jewelry and money from our house. He never returned. Most of his work has seriously fallen apart. I used my remaining money to hire a handyman to fix the necessities to make it safe for my family and the dogs.
My dog sitting service took off from starting with 3 dogs to now having 607 clients, some with more than one dog. My family and I love providing the best care possible for all of the dogs and we are in love with every single dog in our care. It is our wish to continue dog sitting until the last possible minute. I cannot imagine other people taking care of these dogs that are part of my family.
In 2017 one of the dogs in my care attacked me and tore up my entire right arm from about 10 inches below my elbow all the way through my right hand to the tips of my fingers. It took four plus hours for a wonderful plastic surgeon to put everything back together again. My hand still needs another surgery as does one finger.
On December 10th, 2018, one of my daughters and myself were involved in a very bad car accident. I was severely injured and I have had to continuously go for pain management. I do not take oral pain medication at all.
This past November, the 8th to be exact, my attorney filed against the motion (for $2,200.00) that the attorneys for the bank filed to move forward with the auction/sale of my house. Just prior to that I paid another $2,200.00 to apply for a modification through the bank. I was told that the bank could not move forward on the auction/sale until an answer was given with the modification. On February 4th, 2020, the Supreme Court Judge ruled against our motion from last November. We still had not received an answer for the modification so I didn’t panic because my family has enough money coming in to pay a mortgage. The girl who is handling the modification is the SAME girl from years earlier who screwed me.
I brought this to my attorney’s attention but nothing was done. Yesterday I received a letter from the attorney’s for the bank with an auction/sale date for my house.
I immediately called my attorney’s office. The GIRL was supposedly in a meeting and they had excuses as to why the attorney could not come to the phone. Another attorney from the office took the call and told me that the modification was denied.
I was in shock and crying because the GIRL who was handling it told me previously that she was submitting arguments to the bank because the bank was illegally playing games with our income numbers. She NEVER told me that it was denied. NEVER.
She “supposedly” is still fighting with the bank but as soon as the denial happened, the attorneys for the bank swooped in with the
auction/sale date. The office is not letting clients enter the office due to the Coronavirus. My attorney has still not returned my call(s). The sale date is in less then 4 weeks.
The dog sitting stopped due to the Coronavirus. I have no more money at all. My SSD check and my mom’s SS check come in on April 3rd. My husband works at the
Mid Island Y JCC here in Plainview for less then $15 an hour. My kids are now almost 20 years old and they are still suffering with extreme anxiety and depression. One of my kids tried to commit suicide. I take care of my 80 year old mom by myself and always have.
We have no money at all for food yet alone anything else. My washing machine broke in the middle of all of this.
I never thought that I would ever ask for help yet alone beg. I want to continue fighting the bank so that I can live year until my husband retires in September of 2022. I want to continue to provide all of my dog sitting clients my services.
I am not setting up a Go Fund Me because too much of the money does not go directly to my family and I.
If anyone can donate money to my family and I,
I would be able to take care of my family and continue to fight until the very last minute for my house. I am literally begging for help. This is killing me because I am the one who always helps and gives. I am a very proud, accomplished woman yet everything has been lost and I cannot wrap my head around it. I am petrified to become homeless, especially while COVID 19 is making people so sick that they die.
I want to crawl into a hole and disappear. My head was pounding all afternoon into the night to the point that I was vomiting. I am wiped out with swollen eyes.
