Help me save my dogs from wrongful euthanasia

Donation protected
My name is Sam. I rescued Marlowe (white pup) at only a few weeks old and we’ve been thick as thieves the last four years since. Since my boyfriend Kyle and his cuddle monster Kato came into our lives, we’ve had more adventures and laughs than we ever could have imagined. One hot day in September of 2023, I found myself sick with Covid, coming off a string of night shifts in the ICU, loaded with Benadryl and cold medicine, and ready to sleep the rest of the day. Kyle had mistakenly left the front door open, which is something we never do unless one of us is close by and paying attention.

I woke up to the sound of my dogs barking and ran out to the front to find a woman in my fenced front yard and the boys jumping up at her and barking. They both ran inside as soon as I told them too, and the woman had a very obvious injury to her face. I was in shock because I didn’t know who she was or why she came into my yard, but I knew she needed help so I grabbed her some towels and offered to take her back home or the hospital.

After a couple days, animal control was at my door serving papers for 2 counts of “owning a dangerous dog that caused serious bodily injury.” The officer said she didn’t feel that the boys needed to be removed from our home but warned me of the extensive modifications to my yard that were going to be required.

Without getting in to too much detail, I have been dealing with the stress, trauma, and fear of losing the boys who we love so dearly. This woman and the State are trying to take the lives of our family members. My dogs were defending their home, and a sick & unaware me. Actions have been taken on our part to ensure this never happens again. We are completely open to whatever has to be done to keep them where they belong.

All I want is to keep my dogs healthy and happy. I know in my heart that this need to end my dog’s lives is not out of concern for public safety. It is out of hate and bias towards their breeds. It is hard to ask for help in such a public way, but I can’t give up this fight for their lives. The case is on tract for trial so, I appreciate anyone who took the time to read me ramble through our story. And thank you to those who consider donating
