Update: Charlie is now home. He will have to be on 3 medications for the rest of his life since he has been diagnosed with Congenital Heart Failure (along with being 11 years old, blind in one eye, and 5 lbs). The cost to keep him on Oxygen for the past 24 hours at the Emergency Animal Hospital was far more than we anticipated and could afford - your continued support will help us pay back this bill at this really awful time financially for us (see below). Thank you so much everyone for your contributions and shares, we cannot express enough how much this all means.
My mom’s dog Charlie is the absolute best sweetest little boy ever. Since my Dad died in 2018 he’s been her only companion, there every single moment right by her side. He’s also been the most gracious host to my cat Kiwi and I while we’re staying with my mom while I’m in between apartments after construction issues with poison and infestations caused me to have to suddenly break the lease on my own apartment, and I just got a concussion I am healing from. My mom has had a lot of expenses, is self employed with only a very modest income, and lives alone in a small studio apartment with just Charlie.
Charlie was just diagnosed with congestive heart failure and water in his lungs, along with a liver problem. He was just rushed to the Animal Hospital and is on Oxygen. The cost to keep Charlie alive at the Animal Hospital for the next 2 days while they try to get the fluid out of his lungs is $4,925.
I’ve never asked for help before. But please, if everyone can rally for the bestest 11 year old boy in the world, who’s always been there for all of us and needs us to be here for him right now, I can’t express enough how appreciative we would all be.
