Help Save My Dad’s Life – Ayuda a Salvar la Vida de Mi Papá

First, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us during this difficult time. Your generosity and kindness have been a huge help, and we are truly grateful for all the prayers, donations, and messages. We are still actively fundraising to help cover my dad’s medical expenses, and we are halfway to our goal!  My dad had a successful surgery to extract the blood clot he had in the arteries that send blood to his brain, which caused the stroke. He is currently in intensive care and is still in the process of recovery. The doctors are saying he is progressing well, and now his pressure is stabilizing. Over the past few days, I have been able to see him for a total of 15 minutes, and each time I am allowed to see him, I notice more progress. His current condition still looks severe, but he is improving every day. He can move his hands and feet (mostly on the right side of his body) and can understand what we are saying to him. At the moment, he is not able to form words or talk, as that part of his brain is still healing. I believe that within the next 24 hours, we will know if he will be transferred out of intensive care to his own room at the hospital. 

 In terms of the financials, we are working with the hospital accountants and insurance to see if they can cover at least some of the expenses. Fingers crossed! Thank you again so much for contributing and for giving me and my family the ability to spend more time with my dad. Your support is the reason he’s still fighting, and it means the world to us.

I never thought I’d be in this position, but today, I’m asking for your help to save my dad’s life. This morning, my father suffered a severe stroke in the Dominican Republic. It’s not the first time—he has had 4 in his life, but now, it has returned even more aggressively. His condition is critical, and doctors have told us that he needs immediate life-saving surgery that costs $32,500 USD to give him the best chance of recovery.

Right now, we are doing everything we can to gather enough funds to pay a $17,000 deposit so the hospital can proceed with the surgery as soon as possible. Time is not on our side, and we cannot transfer him to another hospital due to his condition. To make matters worse, his insurance is not covering this procedure, leaving us to fight for his life on our own.

Seeing my dad in this state is devastating, but we still have hope. If you are able to contribute—no matter the amount—it would mean the world to me and my family. Every dollar brings us closer to getting him the care he desperately needs.

Nunca pensé que estaría en esta situación, pero hoy necesito pedir su ayuda para salvar la vida de mi papá. Esta mañana, mi padre sufrió un grave derrame cerebral en la República Dominicana. No es la primera vez—ha tenido 4, pero ahora ha regresado con más fuerza. Su condición es crítica y los médicos nos han dicho que necesita una cirugía urgente para salvar su vida, la cual cuesta $32,500 USD.

En este momento, estamos haciendo todo lo posible para reunir los fondos y pagar un depósito de $17,000 para que el hospital pueda proceder con la cirugía cuanto antes. El tiempo no está de nuestro lado, y no podemos trasladarlo a otro hospital debido a su estado. Para empeorar la situación, su seguro no cubre este procedimiento, lo que nos deja luchando solos por su vida.

Verlo en esta situación es devastador, pero todavía tenemos esperanza. Si puedes aportar—sin importar la cantidad—sería un gran alivio para mí y mi familia. Cada dólar nos acerca más a conseguir la atención médica que tanto necesita.
