My name is Seth Chadwick. I live in Houston Texas and I am trying to raise money to help my brother afford the medicines and therapy he needs to recover from his skin condition. My older brother Zac has had many medical issues throughout his life. He's always had asthma which has made it hard for him to go out for any of his favorite sports. He has had allergies far worse than any of my siblings and I, which has made it hard to own any of his most desired pet companions, and he has even survived a tumor in his jaw. On top of it all he has eczema much worse than my brother and sister. The asthma and allergies have always been manageable for my mom to deal with despite our low level of medical insurance, even in the times that we have had no insurance. The reason I am starting this go fund me campaign, which I was reluctant to hear about from a friend of mine who used it to help his brother, is because of his eczema. His eczema started to get much worse when he moved to San Antonio, Texas for college at UT. It started to impede his school life and he had to come back home to Houston after a year. The idea of having to return home made him very depressed which only made matters worse. He goes to school online now and was working to make money to afford the medicines and treatments he needs but his skin eventually got to the point where he couldn't even work anymore. We took him to numerous doctors and dermatologists and none of them could figure out how to treat his condition. Some of the doctors said it was the worse case of eczema they have ever seen despite living in the largest medical center of the country. He frequently wakes up in the middle of the night oozing and bleeding to the point where he is so uncomfortable that he cant fall back asleep. Many times has he scratched through the skin in his arms thighs and ankles until he hits raw flesh. He does everything he can not to scratch but he has little control when he is sleeping. He has spent nights screaming and groaning in pain just to try and tucker himself out to fall back asleep. There was even a short period of time where he couldn't even go outside anymore because the suns UV rays were too much for him to handle. He felt like his skin was on fire. Its a constant struggle and I pray for him every day. They prescribed him countless antibiotics, steroid creams, topical ointments, and herbal baths. Some did nothing at all and some just made it worse. My brother is 23 now, about to turn 24 and he has nearly given up several times. What made me look for a solution myself was him almost committing suicide. I literally saved him one night and now I have moved in with him to help him in any way I can. He changed to a natural and gluten free diet and has started natural/holistic healing as well as spiritual chanting to God to help him heal. It seems to be helping him deal with it and his symptoms subside for a bit but they flare up again a few times a month. He continues to go to doctors and dermatologists and thankfully they have recently come out with a new monoclonal antibody injection that just got approved on the medical market called Dupilumab. It is supposed to target specific receptors in his immune system that cause inflammation and supposedly has no side effects like all the other drugs he has tried. Unfortunately even with our insurance it is estimated to cost $2,000-3,000 a month... A MONTH! When I found this out I had to start looking into doing anything I could to help. Im willing to do whatever it takes but money seems to be the biggest issue. The money I raise with this campaign, which I appreciate from the bottom of my heart, will go towards the medicine he needs and the treatments to his skin and life so that he may get back out into the world and live his life the way he always wanted. He is definitely one of the smartest and most caring people I have ever known despite going through so much growing up. I honestly don't know how long it will take for him to heal, nor do I know if this new medication will even be the answer to his problems, but any donation helps... Please help me save my brother! Please!







As you can see above, he doesn't leave his room much. Mainly because its too painful for him to move his arms to do anything, and on the days that he scratches through this skin on his legs he is in too much pain to even walk to the bathroom. I take care of him the best I can. Anything from making sure he has clean sheets and bandages to getting him the proper nourishment and hydration for his body to heal as fast as possible...
