PLEASE HELP MY FRIEND PROTECT HER KIDS!!!
Note: Because this is a story that includes victimized minors, I will not be disclosing the actual names of the parties involved. I assure you that these people are real and this gofundmeTM request is completely legitimate and necessary!
My best friend “Sue” is a single mom with two teenage children and is desperately trying to protect her kids from their abusive father. Her children suffer from clinical depression, anxiety, PTSD, suicidal ideation and a myriad of other psychological impairments. Her daughter’s condition has deteriorated to the point that she is now hospitalized, and her situation is literally life threatening.
I have a personal relationship with both her children; they are awesome, funny, intelligent, and creative kids with very generous natures. I have always enjoyed spending time with them and it breaks my heart to witness their increasing withdrawal from friends, peers, and relatives. It is both a tragedy and a travesty that they are now ill through no fault of their own. They should be allowed every chance to reach their full potential and are absolutely deserving of your help!
My friend is an amazing mom and her life literally revolves around her kids. Prior to the COVID crisis, Sue was successfully supporting her family by working from home, so she could also balance spending time with her kids, even involving herself with their education. Unfortunately the pandemic has effectively eliminated every income stream she developed. She has been diligent about utilizing available public resources, but has now run out of options and has hit a financial wall. She doesn’t have any money, nor can she borrow it, as her credit is already maxed out and she is just trying to stay afloat financially.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Sue needs help with legal costs and for intensive medical and therapeutic treatment for both her kids. She believes she has found the right person to represent her family in court - he is a very well known lawyer with an excellent reputation. He requires a $10,000 retainer and the final cost of his services could end up being significantly more. In addition both kids require ongoing medical attention and counseling, and her daughter’s hospitalization is costing $1700/day. MediCal coverage is simply insufficient.
If you choose to support her any amount would be gratefully received! ALL of the money donated will go to my friend’s legal fund for defense of her children or their medical needs.
