I found out last night that the light of my life, my dog Meatball has a mass on his kidney. He was his perfectly fine happy self yesterday morning and went downhill so incredibly fast. This dog has been my best friend through the majority of my adulthood and has been by my side and my only support through many awful things that have happened to me the past few years. I truly don't know what I will do without him. I already burned through most of my care credit limit with one emergency vet visit last night. He needs an ultrasound and probably additional testing to even know if surgery is an option to save him. Every little bit helps, this dog is my whole world. Update: After the ultrasound, they found that the mass was actually in Meatball's large and small intestine. His large intestine was perforating and there was a very low chance of saving him if we put him through the very intense and painful surgery, so I had to say goodbye to him last night (5/11/26). I held his sweet face in my hands as he passed, I'm absolutely haunted and struggling to function after all of this happening so fast. The fundraiser is now for his vet bills and end of life costs.
