Save my best friend, Maizy

I wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped us reach our goal! Because of the tremendous amount of love and support we were so graciously shown, Maizy was able to have her surgery Friday, February 24th.

The oncologist called to give us her biopsy results and I'm so grateful to report that the cancer had not spread beyond her thyroid (which was removed) and radiation is not needed. She'll be going for chest x-rays every 3 months for the next year and then every 6 months for the following year just to ensure nothing has come back.

It's been one week since Maizy's surgery and it's so nice to see her acting like her normal, happy-go-lucky self again. She's honestly the happiest dog I've ever met and her resiliency keeps me in awe.

Again, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for giving my precious girl more days. This has meant more to us than I'll ever be able to express.

*Maizy’s biopsy was used in a clinical study of canine thyroid carcinoma. We’re hopeful her success will also help future pups with this rare form of cancer.

Hi, my name is Bre and my best friend Maizy needs your help. She was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer in January and not getting this surgery could risk her life.

We need to raise $7,000 by February 24th. I can’t stand the thought of losing my best friend because I couldn't afford to give her the care she needs. This dog has been my rock through so many of life's milestones and I can't fathom the idea of giving up on her when she's always been there for me. The oncologist is confident Maizy could live 3+ more years if she has surgery.

Maizy has the most infectious, joyful personality that brings a smile to everyone in the room! She reminds me that even during the most difficult times in life, we must remain positive and reach out to our community when we need help.

Maizy has quite the resume as a media star in Dallas, TX. She loves going to work! I've put a great amount of time and care into her extensive training, and she has even appeared in commercials for Haverty's, Arvest Bank, JC Penny and is a frequent online model for our current employer, Chewy!
