On 8/16/2025 after nearly two days of laboring we welcomed our son, our first child, to the world. But while I was in the hospital, the day before my son was born, tragedy struck at home. My dog, my best friend and my first “baby”, was attacked by his housemate in our backyard. The injuries he sustained were critical and horrific. He will need ongoing vet care for at least 2-3 months, including visits every other day to change his bandages and receiving intravenous antibiotics. His chest has a huge gaping wound that is unable to be stitched closed at this time and that will take the longest to heal.

Between bringing home a newborn baby, trying to save my best friend and help him through his recovery, and having to rehome our other dog in the process….my family and I really need some relief. This is supposed to be one of the happiest times of our lives and it has turned into my worst nightmare. I have had my Murdock for almost 8 years, he’s been by my side since he was 8 weeks old. I’m not ready to lose him yet.
