Save Mother's Foot and Prevent Future Strokes

My mother needs emergency surgery on her foot due to a fall she had after a stroke. She has a torn Achilles, and to prevent her tendons from curling and to be able to salvage her foot, she will need surgery next week. Apart from her foot being salvaged, this could potentially save her from having any future strokes so that blood clots do not form.
