Our 5 year old terrier mix Mo has been diagnosed with IVDD. Monday we noticed he was not acting like his normal playful self. He was whimpering, shaking, panting, and sensitive to touch. We took him in immediately and got the diagnosis. They gave him X-rays and prescribed him some medications that were supposed help the inflammation go down. This morning I realized he was whimpering again, but also noticed he had lost some function in his back legs and was dragging himself and falling over. We took him to the vet again and they diagnosed him and additional 3 medications. They’ve put him on strict crate rest and informed us that if within these next two weeks if he get worse it could lead to paralysis and we would have to put him down. Trisdon and I have discussed the options and have come to terms that we will do whatever it takes to not end MO’s life if able to. We have been studying and have found stories of people using physical therapy, red light therapy and many more methods to help their dogs overcome this and we are prepared to try everything. The only issue is these fees are racking up. Just from our two visits alone I’ve spent close to $2,000 to get him treated and seen. We know this will be a long journey for Mo but we have faith that he can get better. If anyone would like to contribute or just pray for our little guy we would greatly appreciate it!
